Mansfield and District Rifle and Pistol Club is one of the oldest and largest clubs in the area and have been going since 1906. We are situated on the Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire border between Mansfield and Chesterfield.
The club consists of a lounge and bar area ,Kitchen,Toilets.Office,Tackle room and the 25 yards Range.
We have a twenty-five yard indoor well lit range containing 6 individual firing points .The range is also equipped with a Turning Target System .
We do have a strong competition minded membership and we cater for .22 precision rifle, .22 sporting rifle, center-fire rifles of pistol caliber (gallery rifle) and all calibers of black powder rifles and pistols. We also have the use of Thorpe Cloud range in Derbyshire for full-bore rifle shooting several times a year and also shoot once a month inside a Tunnel Range near Nottingham which has the advantages of 100 yards range and no wind or rain and is passed for most full bore rifle calibers.
The club that we now use is our second that we have built the first one known as the Mandora Range after the soft drinks firm that allowed us to build a range underneath one of their bottling plants. After several years of good shooting which included a 50 metre indoor range and Mandora being bought out by another company and urgent structural work needed we had to vacate the premises.
After a couple of years of hunting around for suitable properties we came across the premises that we now occupy and again with much hard work and a couple of years later we were up and running again.
Photographs of our Range construction are on the Archives page.
